Richard Heames FRCA

Richard graduated from Southampton University in June 1993 and undertook higher training in both the UK and Canada. He qualified as a Consultant Anaesthetist in August 2005 and is now based at Southampton General Hospital.

Richard has undertaken specialised post-graduate training in anaesthesia primarily focused on managing patients undergoing major complex surgery. He has also been trained in delivering local anaesthesia and sedation for orthopaedic, ophthalmic and dental procedures.

Mike Herbertson FRCA

Mike is a Consultant Anaesthetist in Southampton. He qualified in medicine from Oxford University and The London Hospital Medical College in 1982. He trained in anaesthesia in the UK, Canada and the USA. Since 1997 he has been a Consultant Anaesthetist in Southampton looking after adults and children, having a range of surgeries. He focuses on the quality of his work, providing the best possible care for anyone he is looking after.

David Hett FRCA

David qualified from Guy’s Hospital Medical School in 1985. He has worked in Wessex, London and South Africa during his training and accredited as a consultant anaesthetist in 1995. He has worked at Southampton General since 1998 and provides anaesthetic services for cardiac and orthopaedic surgery as well as consultant cover on the cardiothoracic intensive care unit.
